In Invisible Women: Data Bias in a World Designed for Men, Caroline Criado Perez provides various examples of situations in which facilities (such as office temperature) are tailored to men and do not take women into account. She states that -now that we rely more on big data and algorithms- it is all the more important to realise that the data that is taken into consideration often does not take into account the lives and reality of women. She distinguishes three domains here: the female body, unpaid care tasks, and men's violence against women.
