Ellen Laan argued that sex should be about equality and pleasure for all, including women

Women too can and should have fun in bed. That was the taboo-breaking message of Professor of sexology Ellen Laan. She passed away last weekend at the age of 59 from breast cancer.

She was committed to making female sexuality a subject of discussion and to closing the so-called 'orgasm gap'. Tirelessly, she propagated the idea that sex should be about equality and pleasure. Ellen Laan was a prominent name in her field and her research on how women experienced sexuality was widely praised.
